About the Role
Guildhall is running a retained search for an infrastructure operator on a large-scale tunnelling programme in the UAE. You will own TBM power and controls, a precast manufacturing plant, utility interconnection and facilities, and build the team as the programme scales. It is a rare chance to lead the Electrical discipline rather than join one that already exists.
The role
- Own the entire electrical discipline for a UAE tunnelling programme, not one package.
- Run TBM power and controls, plus a precast manufacturing plant, from the ground up.
- Set electrical standards, specifications and procurement for the operation.
- Own the interface with utility providers and local contractors on connections.
- Build and lead the electrical team as headcount grows with the programme.
- Stay hands-on: this is a working lead role, not a purely supervisory one.
What you'll bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics or related.
- 8+ years in electrical, controls or automation engineering, 3+ at lead level.
- Hands-on PLC, SCADA or HMI experience, or control-system design and integration.
- Field troubleshooting on live heavy plant — TBMs, cranes, conveyors or process lines.
- Track record owning an electrical scope, discipline or team, not just working within one.
- Motor controls and VFD commissioning or tuning experience is an advantage.
- Tunnelling, mining or OEM field-service background is strongly preferred.
What's on offer
- First electrical hire on a large, government-backed tunnelling programme.
- Full ownership of the discipline from day one, with scope to build a team.
- A flat, fast-moving operating environment on-site in Dubai.
- Direct exposure to TBM fleets, precast plant and utility-scale infrastructure.
