UAE Visa-Free Travel: Discover Entry Options for International Travellers

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) offers visa-free travel privileges for citizens of over 80 countries, as reported by Al Khaleej. However, citizens from 115 other countries are required to obtain pre-approved visas prior to entering the UAE.

For accurate and up-to-date visa information, visitors are encouraged to visit the official MoFA website to ensure compliance with entry requirements.

Residents of GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries can enter the UAE without a visa or sponsor. A passport issued by a GCC nation or an ID card is sufficient for entry at UAE entry ports.

International travellers can find further details about eligible nationalities for visa-free entry on the MoFA’s dedicated website. Entry visas can range from 30 days, with a 10-day grace period, to 90 days based on the traveller’s country of origin.

Additionally, Indian citizens with specific criteria, such as holding a US visit visa or a resident card, can obtain a 14-day visa on arrival. This can be extended for an additional 14 days if needed.

For those not falling within the visa exemption or visa-on-arrival categories, acquiring an entry permit from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) is mandatory before arriving in the UAE.

It’s worth noting that the UAE passport holds the top spot on the Passport Index website, ranking as the world’s most powerful passport. UAE passport holders enjoy visa-free access to 180 countries, with 127 not requiring a pre-arranged visa.
