Saudi Arabia Announces $10M Desalination Award Winners
Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Abdulrahman Al Fadhli, has revealed the global award winners of the Global Prize for Innovation in Desalination, featuring a substantial $10 million prize fund.
Grand Prize for Innovation
The grand prize was presented to Syed Shah from Aqua Membranes, USA, for the project titled “Changing Reverse Osmosis through 3D Printed Spacers.” Alongside the grand prize, five other winners were also honored for their remarkable contributions.
A Diverse and Innovative Pool of Competitors
This competition attracted 105 competitors from 27 countries, representing a diverse group of innovators from research centers, universities, entrepreneurs, and professionals in the water desalination industry worldwide. Their presentations showcased innovation, quality, and excellence.

Prior to the grand prize announcement, all six winners had the opportunity to present their projects. Special prizes were also distributed to acknowledge outstanding achievements in the field.
