About the Role
Guildhall is running this search for a state-owned main contractor delivering one of the region's largest live airport building programmes. The building-works drafting team is growing right now as new packages for concrete and structural works ramp up on site. You will own reinforced-concrete structural and shop drawings for terminal, concourse and ancillary building structures, working directly from engineer instructions and site conditions. This is a site-based drafting seat on a project of genuine scale, not a design-office role.
The role
- Produce structural and shop drawings for airport buildings: terminals, concourses, ancillary structures.
- Detail reinforced-concrete elements: foundations, columns, beams, slabs, staircases, retaining walls.
- Prepare bar bending schedules and reinforcement detailing with structural engineers.
- Turn site instructions and design changes into accurate, updated drawings fast.
- Coordinate daily with structural and site engineers to resolve drawing issues on site.
- Maintain drawing version control and document accuracy across a live construction programme.
What you'll bring
- Diploma or degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, structural major preferred.
- 5–12+ years as a structural draftsman in building construction.
- Proven experience on large-scale building construction projects.
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency; Revit Structure/BIM familiarity an advantage.
- Hands-on knowledge of RC detailing, bar bending schedules and coordination drawings.
